About the problem

CCTV drain survey in Somerset & Wiltshire

A CCTV drain survey feeds a waterproof camera down the pipe on a rod, showing exactly what's happening inside it: root ingress, cracked or displaced joints, a section that's collapsed, or simply a pipe that's the wrong fall for water to drain away properly. It's useful before buying a house with an unknown drainage history, when a drain keeps blocking in the same spot for no obvious reason, or after a repair to confirm it's actually solved the problem rather than just moved it.

I run the camera the full length that's accessible, record the footage as I go, and write up a plain-English report describing what's actually there rather than just jargon, so you know what you're dealing with and what, if anything, needs doing about it. If the survey comes back clear, I'll tell you that honestly too, you'll still have the footage as a record either way.

Questions

CCTV drain survey FAQs

Why would I need a CCTV drain survey?

Common reasons are buying a house with an unknown drainage history, a drain that keeps blocking in the same spot, or wanting confirmation that a repair has actually worked.

What do I get afterwards?

Recorded footage and a written report describing what's in the pipe in plain English, including anything that needs attention.

Can you survey a drain you haven't worked on before?

Yes, a survey doesn't need to follow on from a job I've already done.

What if the survey finds nothing wrong?

Then I'll tell you that honestly. Plenty of surveys come back clear, and you'll have the footage as a record either way.

Prefer we call you?

Leave your number and a quick note about the problem. I'll ring you straight back, usually within minutes during the day.
